Our life with our children is a sacred journey exploring change, growth, discovery, movement and transformation. We are continuously teaching and expanding into the vision of what is possible, connecting to spirit, learning to have a clear vision, listening to intuition, moving with courage at every step along the way. We can shape our lives with our children and co create the story into a limitless tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.

Growing with our children through the sacred art of mindfulness, yoga and breath is among some of the most beautiful medicine that can yield a healthy child, and from there smiles and happiness will shine forward like the rays of the sun.

With passion, I believe that when a child displays great strength, focus, and flexibility in yoga, it does wonders for their confidence and self empowerment. A successful posture yields poise and power, which leads them to believe in and pursue their true abilities and desires. Small successes grant children with persistence to achieve greatness as they embark on all of life’s adventures. We can help our little ones to maintain flexibility and strength in their growing bodies, show them how to enhance concentration which allows our children to learn self-control as we help them in enhancing their focus and awareness. From here, we see a rise in self-esteem.

Mindfulness and yoga teaches our children the power of present moment awareness. When children are engaged, focused, having fun, and flowing, they are in the present moment. From here we can redirect this and teach them about this valuable tool so they can carry it throughout their life.

We have everything around us and within us to teach our children how to cultivate a peaceful, relaxed state of mind, body and emotions. As we work together, children learn to understand the importance of this peace and how to carry it with them into their daily lives.

Adults are not the only ones that experience stress. Practicing yoga provides kids with an outlet to reduce stress in a safe and nurturing environment and tools to work constructively with stress in different situations. Practicing various postures offer physical exercise that produces happy endorphins. Breathing exercises slow down the heart rate and teach our children to connect inward, mindful relaxation techniques are powerful sources for calming the mind and the body.

Yoga sparks creativity in our children's ripe imaginations. When children are provided with the opportunity envision and express, this inspires them to be free, creative, and self-explorative. This is playful and fun as well as inviting kids to tap into their own creativity and use their boundless imaginations without judgment.

Mindfulness in yoga encourages kind peer and social interactions. Yoga teaches our children about oneness - that we are all the same inside. We all have bodies that function, hearts that love, and feelings that feel. We can inspire our kids to be kind, patient, accepting, and emphatic with themselves and their peers. We can inspire our kids with non-judgment and non-competition toward oneself and one another. These are all tools that a child can carry in to any difficult life situation.

Yoga postures have the ability to teach and enhance a child's connection to their body. We can teach our children to listen to their bodies movements and express how it makes them feel. Body awareness is an invaluable tool for all stages and ages of life.

Yoga is not a destination; it is a journey of a lifetime, which takes discipline. When children learn at a young age about the benefit of a committed practice, it ripples out into their everyday life activities, relationships, and responsibilities. When they learn that yoga takes practice and persistence rather an immediate accomplishment, they learn and accept that life is a path with good days, bad days, and everything in between.
